SRC 2017: Cavaliers in playoff race against Kings
THE Boland Cavaliers have kept their playoff hopes alive after securing a convincing 51-10 victory against the SWD Eagles in a Supersport Rugby Challenge match in Malmesbury this past weekend. Another bonus-point victory, over the EP Kings in Bredasdorp this coming Saturday, will be enough for the Cavaliers to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
With 17 log points and one match left to be played, the Cavaliers are 5 points behind the second placed Border Bulldogs (22 points after 8 matches) in the South region of the Supersport Rugby Challenge. A four-try victory over EP will be enough to secure a playoff spot since Boland has a better points difference than Border. WP is the log-leaders with 34-points.
EP, who is currently on 20 log points after 7 matches, will be up for the challenge as a win for the Kings will also result in a second place log finish for them and a spot in the Supersport Rugby Challenge Quarterfinals.
