After a much-needed rest the Steval Pumas have made only a single change to their side to meet the Tafel lager Griquas at Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Hooker Marko Janse van Rensburg regains his place in the Starting XV with Frankie Herne being moved to the bench once again.
Many of the first-choice players were in much need of both physical and emotional rest which was evident in the Cheetahs game.
Flanker Francois Kleinhans has also been recalled after a few weeks rest and with little game time recently, will start from the bench.
The Pumas are in a catch 22 position, the can still qualify for the play-offs if they win both the remaining fixtures with bonus points, or if they lose both, will finish with the wooden spoon.
The fine balance of their kicking game, their attack and defence deserted them against the Cheetahs and it proved costly.
They have beaten the Griquas away from home in Round One and have to regain that form.
Pumas versus Griquas: Justin van Staden; Jerome Pretorius, Gerrit Smit, Hennie Skorbinski (Capt), Ruwellyn Isbel; Kobus Marais, Stefan Ungerer; Willie Engelbrecht, Thembelani Bholi, Brian Shabangu, Hugo Kloppers (V Capt), Stefan Willemse, Pieter Scholtz, Marko Janse van Rensburg, Kwezi Mona. Reserves: Frankie Herne, De-Jay Terblanche, Cameron Lindsay, Hilton Lobberts, Francois Kleinhans, Theo Maree/Reynier van Rooyen, Selom Gavor.
