Tahs delivering for two ‘best in class’ partners
Whilst their on-field performances have put the NSW Waratahs at the top of the Australian conference in this year’s Asteron Life Super Rugby competition, the Tahs’ two newest sponsors are reaping the rewards of the team’s strong off-field performance.
Pet Resorts Australia and Paddo Bowls became Waratahs Rugby’s 38th and 39th official partners when they joined the team in February of this year.
Australia’s number one boarding destination for dogs and cats, Pet Resorts Australia founder and director Dave Levy says his team is delighted with the Tahs’ all-round performance over the four months since their partnership started.
“We jumped on board with the Waratahs primarily because of the similarity in our core markets,” said Levy, himself a passionate rugby supporter. “The majority of our decision makers are females and rugby’s well-known for its strong female following. We track our new business and since February, we’ve enjoyed a significant rise in first-time clients.”
With new business a key objective for Levy, prominent on-field halfway line branding (shown in the photo attached) at all the NSW Waratahs’ home matches this season is a key benefit.
“At the last home match we also ran a direct marketing campaign, handing out an enormous amount of flyers at Allianz Stadium. It worked too, we saw a good spike in enquiries and bookings.
“Over the last four or five months, our facility at Dural has over-delivered on our budget by 20 per cent. We’ve had a few other initiatives going on at the same time but it would be fair to say that we’re very, very happy with the results and are backing the Tahs all the way!”
Also joining the team this season is another top performer in its field.
Winner of this year’s Mastercard Lokies for Sydney’s best bowling club, Paddo Bowls has long been a popular Sydney entertainment destination.
A favourite venue for watching rugby, Paddo Bowls became an official sponsor of the Eastern Suburbs club in 2013, before extending its rugby involvement to the NSW Waratahs in February of this year.
“We’ve always had a big rugby following at the club and get big crowds here for Super Rugby and Test matches, and we’re expecting another big one for the Wallabies game this Saturday,” said manager Robert Ashton. “After sponsoring Easts last year, partnering with the Tahs was a natural progression.
“As well as a strong local following, we’re well-known Sydney wide and have people come from all over Sydney. And like the Tahs, we share the same commitment to our community.
“We’ve had a lot of people talk about the team, having seen our signage, and we’re really looking forward to some exciting events that we’ve got coming up, when our fans will really get to enjoy some of our benefits!
