Captain Francois Venter back in action

Francois Venter will be making is return after an ankle injury kept him sidelined for the first four games of the 2017 Vodacom Super Rugby season.

He will be leading the Toyota Cheetahs in their match against the Cell C Sharks on Saturday, 25 March 2017 in Toyota Stadium. The match kicks off at 17:15.

Changes to the team from last week:

Returning from injuries and new to the starting line-up: Ox Nche, Justin Basson, Raymond Rhule, Nico Lee, Francois Venter and Sergeal Petersen.
Johan Coetzee, Paul Schoeman, Shaun Venter and Fred Zeilinga moves from the bench to the starting line-up.
Torsten van Jaarsveld will be starting at hooker while Elandré Huggett moves to the bench.
Henco Venter moves from flank to no.8, while Niell Jordaan moves to the bench.
Other players moving to the bench: Tom Botha, Tian Meyer, Niel Marais and Ryno Benjamin/Clinton Swart

“I’m excited to be back in the team. It was frustrating to be on the sideline, but I’m very proud of the team’s performance so far and I think that they’ve had a great start to the season. I now have the responsibility to be as competitive as my teammates were from the start of the season,” said Francois Venter.

The referee for the game is Jaco Peyper. He will be assisted by Jaco van Heerden and Lourens van der Merwe. The TMO is Johan Greeff.

Gates open at 13:30. Two club teams, Defence Force and Mangaung will be playing in a curtain-raiser at 14:30.

Entertainment

The Toyota Cheetahs invites supporters to enjoy a fun-filled day at Toyota Stadium with a new braai facility with Sparta at the Castle Deck area and the enlarged family-friendly alcohol-free area. Wicus van der Merwe will be providing entertainment on the Castle Deck after the match.

Ticket prices: Main Stand – R80. Open Stand – R60 for adults and R20 for kids.
