TEAM ONE ON-BOARD WITH THE SHARKS
The Sharks (Pty) Ltd are excited to announce a brand new partnership agreement that has been entered into with French company TEAM ONE EVENT, to build international relationships and expand the global reach of the brand.
TEAM ONE EVENT, as a sports marketing agency specialising in the organisation and management of sporting events worldwide (specifically in the sphere of professional rugby), has significant experience in marketing strategies and communication through sport and will provide their services in broadening the global reach of The Sharks brand even further.
Although the Cell C Sharks team is regional, geographically located in Durban, The Sharks brand extends beyond the borders of our beautiful coastal city, throughout the scenic province of KZN, into the furtherest reaches of South Africa and across the world.
To this end, The Sharks see the potential growth of the brand extending beyond Durban and South Africa into previously untapped markets and in a first for The Sharks, TEAM ONE have been appointed as our commercial partners outside of the country to identify, develop and build loyal business relationships in the international market and to promote, negotiate and market the commercial rights of The Sharks.
This partnership will open opportunities to explore and develop commercial agreements as well as brand-building efforts around the world and the chance to attract and speak to new audiences.
Aside from sourcing new commercial sponsors, TEAM ONE will also create a worldwide ‘Sharks friends’ club’ that offers exclusive products related to the Cell C Sharks’ travels in the Vodacom Super Rugby tournament.
“This is an exciting development and we are absolutely thrilled to partner with an internationally renowned business, like Team One Events,” said The Sharks CEO, Dr Eduard Coetzee.
“Sport is business and to broaden our reach, grow our markets and increase our commercial base both locally and globally is vital to our long-term plan for growth and success and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together.”
Philippe Spanghero from Team One added: “After organising three successful tours over the past few years, for the Cell C Sharks in France and Hong Kong, we decided that it was time to expand our partnership with this global collaboration.
“As part of this partnership, we will also organise promotional camps and friendly games. There are exciting times ahead and we are eager to get to work.”
