THE SHARKS IN TALKS WITH THE CITY
The Sharks are in discussions with the City of Durban to play matches at the Moses Mabhida Stadium from 2017, but as yet no agreement has been concluded.
John Smit, Chief Executive, said: “We enjoy an excellent relationship with officials from the eThekwini Municipality, and we are enthusiastic about their vision for the future of our city. We are excited about the prospects at Moses Mabhida Stadium, but have made it clear that any move would have to be in the best interests of The Sharks and its supporters. Before The Sharks board makes a final decision, we will conduct detailed consultations with important stakeholders like our sponsors, suiteholders and season ticket holders. This process will continue over the next few weeks.
“The city has given its full support to this position, and is looking forward to working with The Sharks in the future. We have been inspired by the eThekwini leadership’s commitment and professionalism, and are excited about the opportunities.”
