Some of the best Under-15 players in the country will look to stamp their authority in the Carfind.co.za Iqhawe Week at the Bill Jardine Stadium in Johannesburg from Monday to Thursday with an eye on emerging as the top team at the end of the competition.

The tournament, which was established in 2013, is a joint venture between SA Rugby and the SA Rugby Legends Association, and offers players from rural, lower-league and non-traditional rugby schools an opportunity to participate in a high-level provincial competition with the objective of creating a pathway for them to advance through SA’s rugby structures.

The tournament features teams from the 14 provincial rugby unions, who will battle it out in three rounds of matches on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday respectively.

The two top teams will meet in the final match of the tournament on Thursday, similarly to the tournament structure of the other SA Rugby Youth Weeks.

The Blue Bulls and Free State will kick off the competition on the B Field at 09h30 on Monday, while SWD and Eastern Province will battle it out in the first match on the A Field at 10h00.

Western Province, who secured back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, will take on the Leopards in their opening match, while defending champions, Boland, will go up against the Falcons.

Hosts, the Golden Lions, meanwhile, will meet the Griffons in the final match of the day at 14h15.
