The Toyota Cheetahs will be taking on the Stormers on Saturday, 2 May on their home ground, the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.  Changes to the team:

·         Caylib Oosthuizen replaces Danie Mienie (concussion) on prop

·         Joe Pietersen replaces Willie du Plessis on flyhalf.  Clayton Blommetjies will start on fullback.

·         Sergeal Petersen will make his Super Rugby debut for the Toyota Cheetahs on left wing, after recovering from a broken jaw.  Ryno Benjamin moves to right wing. 

·         Cornal Hendricks will be resting this weekend due to SARU regulations. 

·         Francois Venter replaces Johann Sadie (knee injury) 

·         New on the bench is Dolph Botha, Francois Brummer and Danie Dames

In a Vodacom Cup curtain raiser starting at 14:30, the Toyota Free State XV will be taking on the Western Province.  Gates open at 14:00.     

Everyone is welcome at the Sparta Braai Area – come and buy a steak and braai it yourself.  Jakkie Louw will provide entertainment on the Castle Deck after the match.  

Credo will be handing out free popcorn at the gates.

R80 – Main Stand, R60 – Open Stand (adults) and R20 for students and kids.

Previous Encounters

This will be the 14th SupeRugby encounter between the Toyota Cheetahs and the Stormers from Cape Town since 18 March 2006. The Stormers are leading with nine wins to the four wins of the Toyota Cheetahs.  

It will also be the seventh time the teams meet at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein since the first Bloemfontein encounter on 3 February 2007. The Toyota Cheetahs has won three previous matches in Bloemfontein and the Stormers three.

The Toyota Cheetahs won the two previous matches against the Stormers at the Free State Stadium: winning 26-24 (5 April 2013) and 35-22 (26 April 2014). The Stormers, however, won the last match on 24 May 2014 at Newlands, Cape Town, 33-0.
