Toyota Cheetahs team to face Cardiff Blues
With only a five point lead, Saturday’s Guinness PRO14 match between the Toyota Cheetahs and Cardiff Blues is of the upmost importance for both teams to make it through to the Guinness PRO 14 Final Series.
The two top teams in each pool automatically go through to the Semi-Final of the Guinness PRO14 Final Series, whilst the second and third teams in the pool will play in a Semi-Final Qualifier. In Pool A, Glasgow Warriors secured their place as number one. Whilst Munster is currently on 58 points in second place, the Toyota Cheetahs with 52 in third position and Cardiff Blues with 47 points in fourth position.
Free State Rugby is doing a call on all the Toyota Cheetah supporters to be in Toyota Stadium on Saturday at 15:00. Your support can help to get the Toyota Cheetahs through to the Semi-Final Qualifier of Guinness PRO14. This will be a great and historic achievement for the Toyota Cheetahs.
In their previous encounter, Cardiff Blues beat the Toyota Cheetahs 25-20 at Arms Park in round 14.
“The players understand the importance of this game and have prepared as best possible. Cardiff Blues is a decent outfit and we are in for a tough battle,” said Coach Rory Duncan.
Coach Rory Duncan has announced his team with some changes from last week:
• Clinton Swart will be wearing the number 12 jersey. Niel Marais moves to fly half with Fred Zeilinga providing cover on the bench.
• Carl Wegner will be running onto the field in his 50th match for the Toyota Cheetahs. He will be replacing the injured Justin Basson. Rynier Bernardo will be providing cover on the bench.
The following players are not eligible for team selection due to injury:
Dennis Visser (knee), Elandré Huggett (knee) Ruan van Rensburg, (hand), Luan de Bruin (chest muscle), Shaun Venter (groin), Malcolm Jaer (hand), Nico Lee (ankle), Luther Obi (knee), Justin Basson (ankle).
