The Toyota Cheetahs arrived in Wales on Monday, where they will be facing Scarlets for their third EPCR Challenge Cup match on Friday, 13 January. Kick-off at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli is at 20:00 (22:00 SA time) with a live broadcast on SuperSport 211.

Coach Hawies Fourie said: “The Scarlets are very well organised on the attack, keeping the ball through numerous phases, so we must be sharp on defence. We expect them to be dangerous on their home ground.”

The team will miss two quality players, Ruan Pienaar and Frans Steyn. They were withdrawn from the touring squad at the last moment due to injury.

This offers an opportunity for Rewan Kruger and Andell Loubser to take their game to the next level. Tapiwa Mafura and Branden de Kock will provide cover on the bench.

Louis van der Westhuizen and Marko Janse van Rensburg switch places with Louis in the starting line-up.

Alulutho Tshakweni returns from injury as a reserve prop. Sibabalo Qoma will wear the number 7 jersey, with Daniel Maartens on reserve.
