Toyota Cheetahs will face DHL Western Province
On Saturday at 13:00, the Toyota Cheetahs will face DHL Western Province for their second Currie Cup encounter this year, on their home ground in Toyota Stadium. Gates open at 11:00.
After the match, supporters can watch the URC quarter-final on a big screen while enjoying a live performance by Danny Smoke at the Castle Deck.
Tickets are R50 for the main stand, R30 for the open stand, and only R20 for students and kids. Tickets are available online at www.ticketpro.co.za or at the ticket office in Toyota Stadium.
Free parking is available inside Toyota Stadium if you drive a Toyota and have a valid match ticket at hand. Enter from Kings Way and Att Horak Avenue. Supporters are urged to come early to avoid waiting in line.
The Toyota Cheetahs are proud to have two players reaching remarkable milestones on Saturday. Robert Ebersohn will run onto the field in his 100th match for the Toyota Cheetahs, and captain, Victor Sekekete in his 50th.
Robert debuted in 2008 and earned 72 caps (10 as captain) before moving to France in 2013. He returned to South Africa in 2021 and played 27 games for the Toyota Cheetahs, bringing his total to 99.
Since he joined the Toyota Cheetahs in 2020, Victor Sekekete has been a regular in the starting lineup. He has played 49 matches for the Bloemfontein side since then.
Coach Hawies Fourie announced the team with a couple of changes from last week:
Hencus van Wyk will replace the injured Aranos Coetzee. The flankers are Gideon van der Merwe and Sibabalo Qoma, and George Cronje will be wearing the number 8 jersey.
Ruan Pienaar is back in the starting lineup with Dan Kasende on right-wing and Cohen Jasper on fullback.
On the bench are Louis van der Westhuizen, Nqobisizwe Mxoli (Mox), Laurence Victor, Mzwanele Zito, Friedle Olivier, Daniel Maartens, Rewan Kruger and David Brits.
