Venter ready for Cheetahs
There was a green light for Francois Venter to train on Monday, but some other Vodacom Blue Bulls players were not so lucky.
Mornè Mellett (stiffness in neck) and Jono Ross (concussion) will only train on Wednesday, Vodacom Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss said on Monday.
Tony Jantjies (hip) and Travis Ismaiel (knee) will be out for another week, whilst Jean Cook and Callie Visagie will be out for another month due to a thumb and ankle injury respectively.
The long term injury group are still the same.
Basil Short (knee, 5 months), Francois Hougaard (ankle, 5 months), Cornell Hess (knee, 6 weeks), Deon Stegmann (shoulder, 5 months), Arno Botha (knee, 2 months), Pierre Spies (bicep, 3 months), Louis Fouchè (knee, 3 months).

‘n Groenlig om Maandag te oefen vir Francois Venter, maar die Vodacom Blou Bulle-kaptein, Jono Ross en stut Morne Mellett sal eers Woensdag saamdraf. Ross het harsingskudding opgedoen en Mellett het ‘n stywe nek, aldus Vodacom Blou Bulle spandokter, Org Strauss.
Volgens Strauss is Tony Jantjies (heup) en Travis Ismaiel (knie) ook nog ‘n week buite aksie. Jean Cook en Callie Visagie is weens duim en enkelbeserings nog ‘n maand op die kantlyn.
Die langtermyn groep bly onveranderd: Basil Short (knie, 5 maande), Francois Hougaard (enkel, 5 maande), Cornell Hess (knie, 6 weke), Deon Stegmann (skouer, 5 maande), Arno Botha (knie, 2 maande), Pierre Spies (bicep, 3 maande), Louis Fouchè (knie, 3 maande).
