Smit, Small-Smith back in action
Vodacom Blue Bulls flanker Roelof Smit and midfielder William Small-Smith has been cleared to be considered for selection for this weekend’s Absa Currie Cup match against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs in Pretoria.
Small-Smith has been cleared following concussion and Smit will return to the training field tomorrow, having recovered from a hip pointer and will be available for Friday’s match, team doctor Org Strauss said.
RG Snyman, Werner Kruger and Marvin Orie sat out training on Monday due to light niggles, but Dean Greyling will only know on Thursday whether his knee will hold up for the clash.
Nick de Jager, who made his debut against Griquas on the weekend, strained his ankle and will undergo a scan.
Deon Stegmann is two weeks away from action, as is Justin Forwood, who is recovering from a rib injury.
Duncan Matthews will also be back in two weeks after his knee operation.
Irne Herbst, Piet van Zyl, Morné Mellett, Dennis Visser and Callie Visagie remains out for the rest of the season andHanro Liebenberg is expected back in 4-6 weeks.
