Vodacom Blue Bulls u19 to face SWD Eagles
Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 coach Paul Anthony welcomes back Ruan Steenkamp as flank and captain to his side that will play the SWD Eagles in an Absa Under-19 Provincial Championship match on Friday.
Steenkamp broke his hand in the first round opener against the Eagles in George and will play his second match for the side against the same opponent, but at Loftus B in Pretoria.
The Eagles poor showing this far has prompted Anthony to give some of those players who helped the Blue Bulls to the top of competitions standings after the first round of matches, a break altogether or move them to the bench.
Amongst the newcomers that will play in the competition for the first time is Vian Riekert (wing), Ayabonga Masiba (wing), Kirk Pretorius (loose forward) and Jacques van Staden (centre), with SA Schools captain Pierre Schoeman again expecting to play off the bench, like he did last week in his debut for the side.
Francois Tredoux and Jacques Rossouw, who has scored 31 and 48 points so far respectively, along with leading try scorer Ruwellyn Isbell, are rested.
The game will be played on Loftus B field next to Trademarx and kick-off is at 15h00 on Friday.
