Vodacom Red Winners Cook Up A Storm
CAPE TOWN, 23 MARCH 2017 – Mix a pinch of fun with a dollop of awesome and voila! you have the Vodacom Red experience of a lifetime.
Four lucky Vodacom Red clients were treated to an exclusive, tailor-made once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to cook up a storm with top chefs and DHL Stormers players.
Vodacom RED customers Zandi Tsomo and Mark Theron from Johannesburg, and Grant Lange and Andre Josephs from Cape Town got to know their food and DHL Stormers heroes a bit better during a fun-filled cook off in the Leopards Leap kitchen.
No expenses were spared as the VIPs were put up in a five-star hotel in Franschhoek before embarking on a journey to be remembered. Starting the day with an exclusive tour of the Franschhoek Motor Museum, they had a glimpse back in time at 100 years of motoring history. Whisked away to the Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards in vintage vehicles, the Vodacom Red winners met up with Juan de Jongh, Leolin Zas, Stephan de Wit and Scarra Ntubeni. Here each winner was paired with a player and the celebrity chefs that included Reuben Riffel, Margot Janse, Kamini Pather, and J’Something for the epic cook-off.
“A huge thank you to you all for an incredible, once in a lifetime experience! I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations!” said delighted Vodacom Red client Zandi Tsomo. “The entire day was so much fun and if I had to choose a highlight I would say the cook -off!! The chefs and players were an absolute pleasure to cook with.”
Given 90 minutes to produce a mouth-watering main and dessert, the teams chopped, battered, and baked up a storm. Team Red Advantage spearheaded by Riffel, competition winner Mark Theron and Zas were crowned top chefs thanks to their delicious seafood pasta dish and mouthwatering dessert
Stormers flanker Stephan de Wit proved ruck-time domination does not translate into success in the kitchen with the opensider walking away with the wooden spoon.
“Thank you all once again for a truly remarkable experience. Once again, Vodacom delivers!” said Vodacom Red client Grant Lange. “My friends and family are so annoyed with me because all I can talk about now is my Wednesday that was – the activities, the wine, the food and most importantly, the incredible people we were surrounded with. Thank you! I don’t know how to go about my normal life now.”
Vodacom Executive Head of Sponsorship Michelle van Eyden thanked the Vodacom Red clients for their years of support to the brand. “We hope that this Vodacom Red experience is a small token of our appreciation for being a loyal Vodacom client. It is our way to say thank you to you,” Van Eyden said.
“Thank you for the spirit in which you embraced the day and took on the cooking task. Everyone had a great day – including the DHL Stormers.”
