Wainui, Lane named in New Zealand Under 20, James Blackwell ruled out injured
Taranaki’s Sean Wainui and Auckland’s Jamie Lane, have both been named to join the New Zealand Under 20 squad to assemble in Auckland next week ahead of the Oceania Rugby Junior Championship in Australia.
Wellington’s James Blackwell has been ruled out of the Gold Coast tournament with an ankle injury. He is expected to be available for selection to the World Rugby Under 20 Championship squad. Coach Scott Robertson and his coaching team will name the squad for the World Rugby tournament after the Oceania competition. The squad assembles at Auckland Bruce Pulman Lodge in Takanini on Friday 24 April, before they depart for the Gold Coast tournament on Tuesday. There will be a media interview opportunity on Friday 24 April, with vision opportunities at training as outlined below. The full Oceania squad is:
