Warm-up match – Toyota Cheetahs vs Tafel Lager Griquas
Last week the Toyota Cheetahs faced the EP Elephants in Bloemfontein and eleven players from the visiting team and their head coach tested positive for Covid-19.
The Toyota Cheetah group, which includes players and team management, all tested negative for Covid-19 on Monday. The warm-up match against the Pumas, which was scheduled for Friday, was cancelled due to uncertainty. The Toyota Cheetah group was tested again on Thursday morning and only one player tested positive.
The Toyota Cheetahs will play a warm-up match against the Tafel Lager Griquas in Kimberley on Friday afternoon at 12:30.
The match serves as preparation for the Carling Currie Cup which kicks off for the Toyota Cheetahs on 26 June when the two teams will be facing each other again in Kimberley.
