Six Springboks will run out for the Xerox Golden Lions VX at the Bill Jardine Stadium in Longdale on Sunday 24 June 2018 to face the Vodacom Blue Bulls in one of three exciting clashes of the day. This day is supported by Gauteng Government Sports and Recreation and forms part of the Premier’s Social Cohesion Games and aims to bring Rugby and sport to all communities.

“After a break in Vodacom Super Rugby for the International series we welcome the opportunity to give our Super Rugby players game time and to ensure our preparation is on track. Our Junior Boks are back in training and we have opted to rest them to ensure their availability next week. Warren and Malcolm are back from injury and this is an ideal opportunity to get them back on the field. They will be joined with fellow Springboks Courtnall Skosan, Lionel Mapoe and Ross Cronjé. Rudolf Straeuli, CEO of the Lions Rugby Company, said.

Straeuli added “the Bill Jardine Stadium is rich in Rugby history and plays an important role in Lions and GLRU family and thank them for hosting this community based festival”.

The Lions’ SuperSport Challenge coach, Herkie Kruger, will be supported by the Emirates Lions Super Rugby Management.

A reminder that entrance is FREE. Gates open at 09:00 and a signing session will take place after the match.
