Willem is back for the Sharks
The Cell C Sharks have been handed some good news as big, physical loose-forward Willem Alberts has returned to training and will be available for selection this weekend.
After missing the first few matches of the season following rehab, he returned for the Stormers match, but suffered another injury, but has now recovered sufficiently to return to the training and playing field.
Pat Lambie unfortunately will not be available for roughly the next six weeks after sustaining a neck injury against the Crusaders which forced him to leave the field in the 44th minute of the match, played at Growthpoint KINGS PARK.
“It’s a huge blow to lose a player of Pat’s calibre,” said Cell C Sharks Director of Rugby. “He’s a well-respected member of the team, although Fred Zeilinga provides quality cover and he looked really good when he came on for Pat in the match.”
Lambie has a neck vertebra injury which fortunately does not require any surgery.
The Cell C Sharks will travel to Johannesburg this Saturday to take on the Emirates Lions in their return leg Vodacom Super Rugby clash. The first round match was won by the Cell C Shark at Growthpoint KINGS PARK.
