Xerox Golden Lions still ahead of pack in Absa U21 Provincial Championship
The Vodacom Blue Bulls (41-23 over Leopards), DHL Western Province (22-0 over Toyota Free State) and Cell C Sharks (32-20 over EP Kings) all scored good home wins in round six of the Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship A-Division on the weekend, but are still playing catch-up to the Xerox Golden Lions, who had a buy this weekend.
The Johannesburg side has started the season in strong fashion and still leads the log, but four other teams are all in the race to finish in the top four.
The EP Kings, winless after six matches, cannot reach the top four any more, while the Leopards, with one win from five, will have to improve dramatically to stay in the run. WP, Blue Bulls, Sharks and Free State look set to compete for the final four spots.
The B-Division also kicked off this weekend, with the home sides finding the opening round a tough one.
ORC Griquas (23-26 to Boland), Hino Valke (42-43 to Steval Pumas) and SWD (19-22 to Limpopo Blue Bulls) all lost at home, with only Border (15-10 over Griffons) managing a home win.
